Woodcock but with the additional information that the parents of both Hiram and Julia Woodcock were born in New York (1149).
Before the 1885 Iowa State Census, the Hiram G. Woodcock family migrated to the Cedar Township of Calhoun County, Iowa. Elbert Woodcock was 21 years old, and would be the only child of Hiram G. and Julia Woodcock (33).

His parents were both born in New York. Elvira (Vontrees) Woodcock was 34 years old, and born in Iowa during Sep 1865. Her father was born in Indiana, and her mother was born in Ohio. Six children were living in the Elbert Woodcock household: Harry B. Woodcock, 12 years old and born in Jun 1887; Bessie R., 10 years old and born in Oct 1889; Nellie, 8 years old and born in Oct 1891; Fred D., 7 years old and born in Dec 1892; Ruth, five years old and born in Dec 1894; and Hazel Woodcock, three years old and born in Oct 1896. All children were born in Iowa.
The 1925 Iowa State Census enumerates the Elbert Woodcock Household on 1 Jan 1925 (169). Elbert Woodcock was 61 years old and born in New York. His father was Hiram Woodcock, and his mother was Julia Alworth. Both parents were born in New York. The wife of Elbert Woodcock is enumerated as Claire Woodcock, 59 years old and born in Iowa. Her father was George Vontrees, born in Indiana, and her mother was Elizabeth Patterson, born in Ohio. Also living in the household was a son, Dail Woodcock, 31 years old and born in Iowa.
