Susanna Faucette (7 Oct 1738 – 8 May 1819)

Susanna Faucette was born in France on 7 Oct 1738.

By 31 Aug 1747, Susanna Faucette was in the Upper Parish of Nansemond County, Virginia when the Parish Vestry ordered procession of the boundary line between land held by her father, Francois Faucette, referred to as Frances Forsett, and William Battle (576).

In 1756, Susanna Faucette and Jesse Battle married in Nansemond County, Virginia.

On 23 Dec 1771, At a Vestry of the Upper Parish of Nansemond County, Virginia, processioning of boundary lines between properties held by Daniel March and Ann Forset and between land held by Ann Forset and Ben Forset was reported. In this Vestry report, Ann Forset was likely Susanna Faucette, and Ben Forset was likely her brother Benjamin Faucette.

Notes and Comments

The report of processioning of the boundaries of land held by Susanna Faucette on 23 Dec 1771 may be for land she inherited land from her father Francois Faucette. The boundaries are with Daniel March and with her brother Benjamin Faucette.

Susanna Faucette and Benjamin Faucette were children of a Frenchman who settled near Suffolk in Upper Parish, Nansemond County, Virginia. Susanna Faucette, a French Huguenot, escaped from France hidden in bales of silk.

Susanna Battle appears on a 1812 tax list for Captain Harts District of Hancock County, Georgia. The tax list shows Reubin Battle as an agent for Susanna Battle.
