Francois Faucette (20 Aug 1705 – 1790)
Francois Faucette was born at Rongeres in Allier, France on 20 Aug 1705. Francois Faucette and Francoise Loisel Louazel married in France, and emigrated to the Virginia Colony before 31 Aug 1747.
On 31 Aug 1747, the Parish Vestry of the Upper Parish of Nansemond County, Virginia ordered procession of the boundary line between land held by Frances Forsett and William Battle (575, Page 30). Elisha Battle was present.
A Vestry held in Suffolk Town on 31 Mar 1752 for the Upper Parish of Nansemond County, Virginia, Elisha Ashburn and John Gwin reported that Francis Forset was present when the lines were processioned (575, Page 68).
The Vestry Book records processioning of lines between Benjamain Forset and Jesse Battle; between Benjamain Forset and Elisha Ballard; and between Benjamain Forset, Frances Forset, and between Benjamain Forset and James March; also between James March and Frances Forset on about 2 Feb 1760 (575, Page 148).
Francois Faucette is last mentioned in the Vestry Book of the Upper Parish on 8 Apr 1760 at age about 54 years (575, Page 144). He was present when a boundary line between his land and land held by his son, Benjamin Faucette, referred to as Benjamain Forset, was processioned.
Francois Faucette died in 1790 in Nansemond County, Virginia.
Notes and Comments
In reference to an Order of Vestry dated 31 Aug 1747 to procession lines, the Vestry Book refers to Francois Faucette as Frances Forsett (575, Page 30).
