Serene Ragan (30 Oct 1794 - 8 Feb 1881)
On 2 Jan 1857, Serene (Ragan) Robertson made a deed to John Garner in Hinds County, Mississippi to transfer her rights in the tract of land known as the Mt. Carmel tract, with the exception of the cemetery. Serene Robertson transferred about 80 acres of land in exchange for $1.00 (435). Serene Robertson acquired the land by deed from her deceased father, John Ragan. George W. Walker and Milton R. Jones witnessed the deed. On 4 Sep 1874, Serene Robertson and E.S. Robertson, acting as her attorney, transferred an additional tract of land in the town of Mt. Carmel in Covington County, Mississippi by indenture to I. H. Mikeel.
