“Pioneer Woman Dies at Cashion”

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Griffith died Wednesday morning at her home in Cashion at the age of 84 years, 10 months, and 7 days. Reverand Harold McElvany officiated at the funeral service, and interment was made in the Cashion cemetery. In 1885, Mr. and Mrs. Griffith and children moved from Ohio to Kansas, and in 1902 they moved to Oklahoma, where they continued to reside. Mr. Griffith died in 1932. Five sons also preceded their mother in death. Survivors include two sons, Charley of Cashion, with whom Mrs. Griffith made her home since Mr. Griffith’s death, and James of El Reno; four daughters, Mrs. A .N. Jones of Vici, Mrs. Agnes Johnson of Sand Springs, Mrs. Ashton of Lincoln, Kansas, and Mrs. James Tenart of Latham, Kansas.
