In the name of God amen, on the 21st day of March 1768, John Emanuel of the Parish of Saint George in the province of Georgia being very sick and weak of body but of perfect mind and memory than xxbe almighty God for all his marvel calling to mind the mortality of my body and that it is ordained for all men on earth to die. I do make an ordinary last will and testament in manner and for my following that is to say is for my soul. I reccomend it into the hands of god my xxxxx and my redeemer by whatever merrits alone. I hope to be served an to have for xxxxx xxxx of all my sins and for my body I recomend it to the earth to be buried in a Christian like XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

It is my will that debts and funeral expenses be paid and discharged by my executors hereafter named,
Then I give and bequeath to my loving brother Levi Emanuel a tract of land containing 100 acres adjoining land of Andrew Hampxxx on Brier Creek and my cloak.

Then all the rest of my estate that remains after my just debts and funeral expenses are paid. That they be equally divided between my father, my brother Levi, and my sister Ruth. I do hereby appoint my father David Emanuel sole executor of this my last will and testament.
