Asa Emanuel was born in about 1742 in Chester County, Pennsylvania, a son of David Emanuel.
According to a card in the General Name File of the Georgia Archives, Asa Emanuel served with the rank of Colnel in the Burke County, Georgia Militia during the period 21 Aug 1781 - 1782.
In Nov 1768, Asa Emanuel and Samuel Leeds witnessed a deed by John Rentz of St. Matthew Parish, Georgia, Tavern Keeper and wife Barbara to Christopher Peters of Savannah, Carpenter, for two adjoining tracts of 100 acres. The deed was proven on 7 Jun 1788. (Presumably in Saint Matthew Parish, Georgia).
In Oct 1769, Asa Emanuel petitioned for 100 acres of land in St. George’s Parish at a place called Case’s upper Pond near or adjoining lands surveyed for John Emanuel nad William Case. In making the petition, Asa Emanuel stated that he had purchased lately a tract of land from his brother John Emanuel near which was a vacant piece very commodious for petitioner’s improvement, he having never obtained land ... .

In the 1827 Georgia Land Lottery, the orphans of Asa Emanuel acquired Lot 252 in District 11 of Section 1. At the 1827 lottery, the orphans of Asa Emanuel were considered residents of Decatur County, Georgia. They drew for land in Hawthorne’s District of Lee County, Georgia.
