Edward Browne was in the Virginia Colony by 24 Aug 1637 when John Brodwell received a grant of 300 acres of land in James City County, Virginia for the transportation of six persons including Edward Browne.

On 24 Aug 1637, John Brodwell received a grant of 300 acres of land in James City County, Virginia for the transportation of six persons: William Downes, Ambrose Eadly, David Williams, Edward Browne, Jarvis Rewed, and Henry Lawdeare. On 4 May 1665, John Clarke and Katherine his wife sold to Edward Browne 200 acres of land in Isle of Wight County, being one-half of a patent for 400 acres. The deed was recorded in Surry County, Virginia on 7 May 1666, witnessed by Thomas Gualtney, Elizabeth Browne, and George Watkin. Elizabeth Browne may have been a daughter of Edward Browne.

On 9 Dec 1669, the Will of Edward Browne was proved in court in Isle of Wight County, Virginia. The court appointed the wife of Edward Browne, Ellinor, as his relict executrix.

On 27 Mar 1679, in Surry County, Virginia, Jonathan Case was granted administration on the estate of Edward Browne in right of orphans.

In the Name of God Amen, I Edward Browne of the Isle of Wight county in Virginia being sick in Bodye, yet thanks bee to God, in Pfectt memorie, Doe make & ordain this my Last Will and Testament in & form following; first I doe bequeath, my soul, into the hands of Almightie God trusting to bee saved, by the Merritts, of my Lord & savior: Jesus Christ, And my Body to the earth to be decently buried, & as for Worodly goods, that God hath bestowed on me, I doe bequeath in manner & form as followeth

ffirst I doe give my land to my sonne Edward Browne, and to his heires for ever Lawfully begotten of his Body, only my Will is, that my Wife & children, shall Live & dwell, upon the land & plantation together Dureinge the time, of her Widdowhood, to have the use of the same land, dureinge her life, a seatled beinge upon the land, if she remaine unmarried, But if she marry againe, my sonne, att Age to possess all my said land, but fiftie Acres, in that Case of marriage, I give to her for a habitation for ever att the lower end of my land, that is fiftie Acres of land, to her, dureinge her life, And then it to return, to my sonne Edward Browne or his heires

I Doe give to my daughter Elizabeth Browne, Eleaven head of Cattell that is to say three steeres, Swann & hart & starr & the other eight head of femeale Cattell that is to say, two Cowes called Coll & Browninge & three heifeirs of two yeeres old, next Calveinge, called buck Nansie & lillie, & soe three of the first Cowe Calves, that first shall fall to make good her Number of Eleaven head, shee to have them & the increase female all of them, att the Day of her marriage the Cattell, to remaine upon the plantation, till then to enrich the land, for my Wife, & Childrens good, likewise I give to my Daughter, now present to possess two sowes & all theire increase I Doe give her likewise att her marriage a Iron pott & a great Truncke, to be delivered her then, I Doe give all the rest, of my Cattell hoggs, Sowes, & the rest of my moveables & goods Betweene my said wife, & my sonne To be equally devided, betweene them two, when hee shall, Come att Age, in the meane time, shee & her together to use possess & injoy till then, All my just debts, beinge satisfied in the first place, I Give to my sonne all my Weareinge apparel, I doe make & ordaine my Wife Ellinor Browne sole Execurtix of this Will, And I doe Appoint, my trustie and Wellbeloved friends Robert Fflake & Richard Bennett, as overseers to see my Will performed before Wittnes this 18th Day of November Annum 1669 I have sett to my hand & Seale

Edward Browne may have immigrated to the Virginia Colony before 24 Aug 1637 when John Brodwell received a land grant for 300 acres in James City County, Virginia for the transportation of six persons, including an Edward Browne.

An Edward Browne immigrated to the Virginia colony in 1635, at age 25 years.

Edward Browne, I made a will on 18 Nov 1669 in Isle of Wight County, Virginia and died soon afterward. The Will was proved in court on 9 Dec 1669.

On 8 Feb 1696, Walter Rutter and wife Martha sold to Joseph Bridger for 1,200 pounds of tobacco a parcel of land in Lawn’s Plantation called Herring’s plantation now occupied by Edward Browne to James Benn’s line.
